Based on the Beatles’ hit song of the same title, Yellow Submarine is an animated British movie. It takes place in the fantasy world of Pepperland, a psychedelic paradise that faces imminent doom at the hands of the villainous Blue Meanies. In this Beatles' movie, the submarine is depicted the place where everybody loves each other in a groovy way and gets the strength to battle with the Blue Meanies.
Released in the midst of the psychedelic pop culture of the 1960s, the film drew in moviegoers both for its lush, wildly creative images and its soundtrack of Beatles songs.
